to state for your information that since the date of her Majesty's
appointment to the Colonial Chaplaincy of Hong Kong, an alteration has taken place in the Colonial Regulations, and that at present no
Colonial Chaplain is entitled to receive
any salary
or allowance towards the
cost of his passage.
£250 per annum
Under these circumstances,
Lord Kimberley regrets
he is unable to accede to
your application
